FAQ

Where are you based?

I’m currently based in the Tauranga but I’m happy to travel around the Waikato and Coromandel.

Do you charge for travel or multiple locations?

Travel fees may apply but I can work that out on a case-by-case basis with you. No travel charge for photography sessions in the Tauranga area. Some travel will be charged for areas outside of Tauranga.

How would you describe your ‘style’?

I love to capture natural candid moments throughout your day. Catching raw emotions and connections between loved ones is important, it tells the story of your special day. There will be some posed photos but those I try to make fun and natural. I'm easy-going and love a laugh with you and your family.

Can we meet with you?

Of course, we can meet in person for a coffee to initially discuss your plans, and then closer to your wedding day we can meet again to go over the finer details. I will send you an online Questionnaire one month before your wedding day with questions that will help me understand your wedding day flow and your needs. I must have an understanding of your wedding timeline, family formals list, and some information about you.

How soon do we get our photos and will they be edited?

5-8 weeks following your wedding via my online gallery. Family session 2-3 weeks. Images are all high-resolution print-ready JPG files ready for download. I can also supply them on a USB stick upon request. Your images will be edited for colour and exposure consistency. I always include a selection of images converted to black and white (because I love black and white!). Basic retouching is complimentary and all images are supplied as JPG files, not RAW.

Do you use flash very often or available light?

For weddings and family sessions I prefer natural available light and try to hit the magic golden hour when the light is not so harsh. The bright mid-day summer sun and I are not the best of friends. I will use flash when the natural light isn’t adequate.

How many pictures do you take?

That will depend on the wedding package you choose but I’m snap happy and usually take way too many. I have given suggestions on my price list. Don't worry you'll get lots!

What's your payment plan?

I require a 30% deposit and a signed contract to secure your booking. After that, the remaining balance is due 1 month before your wedding date. Family sessions are invoiced in full 1 week before the shoot.

Can you help us with planning?

Absolutely, I love a good wedding. With a background in Graphic Design, I love seeing how a bride's vision of her day comes to life. Colours, flowers, food, table settings give me a buzz and are a visual feast for my camera.

Do we need to feed you on the day?

Yes please, weddings are full-on and we all need our energy to keep up the pace. If I can eat at the same time as you then I’m good to go for your wedding speeches and won’t miss the important bits.

What should we wear for a family session?

I can send you some ideas around what to wear for your shoot. Usually, I suggest Mum is the hero and you base your family member's outfits around what she is comfortable wearing. Neutral colours are great and the fewer patterns the better. Sorry Dads, don’t go for that paisley shirt sitting in the back of the wardrobe.

Help, we’ve lost all of our photos. Can you help?

Don’t stress, I always keep multiple copies. I use a cloud-based storage system as well as hard drives locked away in a safe. However, I do suggest that you make your own copies as well.

What about copyright! What is this?

In New Zealand, copyright is something we both own. You can print them, use them for Facebook or Instagram, share them with family. I will use some images too on my website and social media as self-promotion. What you can’t do is use the images for any financial gain by selling them. I do ask that if you use them on social media you attribute me a photo credit. Please don’t use filters on the images I supply you as I spent a lot of time editing them to suit the style of the day.
